The paper describes image enhancement using Binarization and other methods for removing stains from unclear text script. The main aim of enhancement is to convert ancient images into readable forms.Many techniques are available for image enhancement such as the nonlinear multi-scale method, the image-enhancing method using thresholding, image enhancement using Binarization, and other methods. The background damage may happen due to varying contrast and duration of ancient images. Most ancient images are with the same foreground and background. The ancient script contains large background noise. Techniques used for Devanagari character recognition This paper deals with the analytical study of different classification The researcher used various recognition techniques likeĪrtificial neural network, support vector machine, particle Swarm optimization technique and genetic algorithm. Due to this Devanagari script recognition is a challenging task and it has been an active area of research till now. This script also supports various compound characters. In addition, the alphabets are modified when a vowel is added to a consonant. It comprises of 49 primary alphabets, 13 vowels, and 36 consonants, and 10 digits. Thus, “Devanagari” words mean “Script of the God”. The word “Devanagari” is a combination of two wordsmeans God and “Nagari” which means urban establishment. This script is used to write more than 100 languages spoken in India and Nepal including Sanskrit, Hindi, Marathi, Bhojpuri, Nepali, Kokani, Sindhi, Marwari, Maithili, Pali and many more.
